The GP Urgent Out of Hours Service provides urgent medical care from 6.30pm to 8am on weekdays and around the clock at weekends and bank holidays. It can help an individual if, for example, they have a fever or sickness but don’t need to go to a hospital emergency department.
This service is for Hull residents or patients registered with a Hull GP who are experiencing a medical problem that cannot reasonably be expected to wait for the next opportunity to contact their own practice, in-hours.
After telephoning the service an individual will be asked for their details and to describe the nature of their problem. They will receive a call back from a qualified health professional and be given advice and assistance.
If further examination or treatment is required they will be invited to attend in person at one of the two centres open at Westbourne Avenue or Bilton Grange, where they will be offered further examination, advice and/or treatment.
If a patient is unable to attend in person and a home visit is necessary, a qualified professional will attend at the patient’s home and offer further examination, advice and or treatment.
